January 2011

The English-speaking congregation of the Christian Congregational Church of Mazatlan, Mexico is in need of a pastor to minister to our seasonal flock (50-150) of interdenominational Christians beginning in November of 2011. Our congregation is considered an additional congregation of the oldest (founded in 1888) Protestant church in Mazatlan, Mexico. Senor Pastor, Daniel Celis, refers to what has evolved over the past five years as “ One Church – Two Expressions.” Over 40 members of the ESC actively participate in lay roles in worship and ministries of the church. Worship services are held in English for the months of November through April each year.

The congregation has been blessed by the ministry of a retired pastor from Texas for the past five seasons. He and his wife are relocating to Lake Chapala , south of Guadalajara, Mexico. We are hoping to attract another retired minister to continue with our spiritual leadership and needs. The pastors for the English and Spanish congregations have collaborated on the requirements of this position. Please find attached a three page document that resulted. In addition, a profile of the church is included.

The position would be for a retired, ordained pastor, who is comfortable with the Pastoral profile and would be willing to reside in Mazatlan for six months, serving the needs of the English speaking congregation. Transportation to Mazatlan and returning home would be accommodated, along with suitable housing for the six months.

Sincerely,

Jack Sieber
